As the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler it is vital to remember how the change of weather affects your car's health. Heading into winter as the weather transitions from hot to cold remember this list of car care maintenance items to get your vehicle ready for winter.
1. Oil Change/ Fluids: The most common maintenance is your regular service maintenance. Along with you oil, make sure to check your fluids (including antifreeze, windshield washer fluid, and brake fluid)
2. Tires: Make sure your tires are in top condition before you drive on snowy, icy roads. Check your tire treads, air pressure and remember to have your tires rotated.
3. Wiper Blades: Are you seeing streaks on your windshield? Do you notice missing spots after using your wiper blades? These are signs to replace your wiper blades ASAP. Ask your Service Advisor for the best wiper blades for Chicago's harsh winters!
4. Battery: Remember to have your car battery tested each fall. An increase in battery failure increases as the weather gets colder.
5. Lights: Check all your lights on your car not only to escape a traffic ticket but to keep you and other drivers safe on the road. (This includes your brake lights, hazards, turn signals and back up lights)
